My innovation project was meaningful to me because it is about something that I am truly interested in. I got to know more about different places around the world that I had never known existed. I love watching the Travel channel and HGTV, so it was cool to be able to further research some of the places I have seen on there and find new ones. Now, I have a map of all the places, and I am able to look back on that when I want to. Hopefully, I will even be able to go to some of those places someday.

Since I have to give my presentation this week, I started planning out how I'm going to present. I think I'm going to make a PowerPoint. On it I'll explain the process and final product of my map. I'll include the struggles I had along the way. Then, I'll talk about why traveling is important, and my expert's opinion on it.
For these two weeks, I continued to fill in the map. I also began to think about how I can present this to the class. I would introduce my topic first. I was thinking about projecting the map, and showing everyone each place. Then I would talk about what my expert had to say about travel, and why I think it is important.
This week I continued to enter information into my map. It is taking a little longer than expected. Thinking back on when I started, there may have been an easier place to put my information into than Google Maps. However, I found I could use Google Maps and didn't really research anywhere else. I think I should be done within a month
After I got my questions back and answered, I had to think of ways to incorporate them into my project. Since my project is a map, it is more of a visual piece. I thought that I could maybe use the answers I received as evidence and inspiration to get more people interested in travel. So, after I present, maybe more people will be interested or motivated. As I present, I thought I could talk about each place I mapped out and how it could benefit your life from going there. Then, use the answers I got from Orton as evidence to back up what I'm saying. This week, I continued to enter in the different places in my map. I am thinking of researching different places. Some of the places that Orton visited seemed interesting. So, I might look up information about those places. Overall, I think my project is going well, and I will hopefully be done by next month.
I finally emailed Orton my questions, and I got a response. I knew she had traveled a lot, but I did not realize how many different places she's been. She has been to 12 countries, and all but 8 states. The questions were answered thoroughly, so that really helped me to have a better understanding on how travel can help to make people a better version of themselves. One thing I found interesting is how Orton said travel can teach us in many ways. It can even help us to reach our own potential. By traveling, and putting yourself out there, you can learn so much about yourself and the world around you.
This week, I finally finished researching and gathering information from my places. I have eleven places total. So far, I have them marked on my map. Next week, I am going to enter the information about the places into the map.
This week I focused on writing questions to ask Ms Orton. I have about five questions. I hope the answers I get will benefit my research on travel. Next innovation day, I am going to try and find Orton so I can get the questions answered.
This week I did not start anything new for the project. I mainly continued what I did last week. I researched more about the different places. I still have to talk with/interview my travel expert Ms.Orton. I plan on doing that within the next few weeks.
